Under laws that came into effect in May 2018, we need to provide you with certain details concerning how your personal data will be used and protected. Shepley Cricket Club takes the protection of the data we hold about you as a member seriously and is committed to respecting your privacy.
This notice is to explain how we may use personal information we collect and how we comply with the law on data protection, and what your rights are.
Data controller:
Shepley Cricket Club collects personal data that is necessary for the purposes of its legitimate interests as a membership organisation and as the authority of an internationally recognised and regulated, competitive sport. Personnel data is kept in compliance with our legal obligations.
If you want to see the membership data we hold about you, you can request this at any time by contacting The Committee.
The GDPR refers to sensitive personal data as “special categories of personal data”. Shepley Cricket Club does not collect any such data.
Please contact The Committee to make any updates to your data, or if you want it removed. Clearly if it is removed, you will no longer receive any communications from Shepley Cricket Club.
We normally keep members’ data after they resign or their membership lapses. This is because wefind members sometimes later wish to re-join (occasionally after several decades). However, on request we will entirely delete any former member’s contact details.
We normally keep members’ information after they die. If requested by their next-of-kin to delete it, we will do so on the same basis as when requested to remove data by a former member.
