Elland v Shepley

Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership

Saturday 16th May 2009

Hullen Edge, Elland

 

An impressive win for Shepley over a strong Elland side at Hullen Edge carried on the good start to the season.  Batting first on a difficult pitch, Shepley relied on good knocks from SP Singh and Tim Rees, returning to hid best form, with good contributions from Romain Grenville and Don Bandula Ranjith.  A target of 168 looked challenging as Elland replied, and so it proved.  Despite missing the unavailable captain Danny Glover, Shepley blew away the Elland top order, with Romain Grenville posting his best figures so far for the Club, ably assisted by Chris Cox.  A 49 run win in a low-scoring game was a fair reflection of Shepley's superiority on the day.
